Ubuntu Football Academy was born in a response to a crisis of fatherlessness in South African society, where 60% of children are growing up without a father in their home. The mission of Ubuntu is to mentor and educate the next generation of great African leaders, society-changers, and footballers. There are around 90 boys in the Academy, ranging from ages 11-18. There is a school with 36 students, a residence that houses 28 of the boys, and 8 different football teams that are selected by age group. By providing role models and mentors, a quality education, and investing in discipleship, mental skills and leadership development, Ubuntu Football Academy is working for the day where no child in South Africa is without a positive father figure in their lives.
